newspaper weaving
Newspaper weaving :
There are no proper records of how and when newspaper weaving started but it is said that it's the most easy way to recycle a newspaper that many across the globe do it for either their household use and for sale. I believe this technique would have started in the 19th century as that's when newspapers became very common among people and some one would have gotten this idea of crafting.
A website namely wisegeek states that "Paper weaving is a popular school craft, particularly for young children. Weaving helps children develop dexterity and coordination and can also reinforce lessons on colors and patterns. It does not take a lot of talent to make a simple woven mat, and young artists of all skill levels can participate and quickly master the technique.". It also states that Ancient Japanese Art of Origami included Paper weaving as well as in Korean traditional crafts. So might be there are the mother to this creation.
Another website (Dickblick) states that ancient basket weaving technique emerged into Paper weaving. It also shows the initial paper weaved technique. see below and if possible the sticky link of that website too.
There are many around the world who have found out different objects that can be made out of this technique. For example, a basket, a bowl, a bag, animals, birds, home decor and this list goes endless.
see below pictures of one of the model i made with this weaving technique.
Lets me share the technique of making the raw material for this weaving technique before I leave.
I have used weavers pictures on the internet to describe the technique and the website is linked below for further references.

Polythene flowers
Tired of loneliness and lack of craft supplies has made me use the least expensive Rag way to make crafts. I have used Paper rolls as the stem and polythene bags for the flowers and stem wraps, and some thread to hold the polythene together. And tadaaa my polythene flowers.. Loving them and I started giving it out to friends houses near by and they are loving it too.
Fun is some of them started collecting colored polythene bags for me so I can use them for these, and my cupboard is stacked up with bags of polythene.. :)

Valentines day
Hello world,
We had the most lovely valentines day ever, and one of the gifts I gave my hubby was a stocking doll I made. I shouldn't say it was beautiful but it was filled with love. :)

Bottle painting
Good Morning World..
Happy to display my new craft, and I'm thankful to Meenakshi Designs for their lovely art that inspired me to do this.
First I forced my Mom to empty a half filled honey bottle into some other container and give me the empty bottle. Cleaned it and dried it in Sun for some time, and then started the painting.
I used 3D out liner, Acrylic Colors, and 3D glitter Glue. Painted the acrylic colors first, followed by the out-liners and glue. Thought I'll varnish them for a shine but it dint work out well rather started to look messy.
I've seen some Christmas Bottle art on Pinterest (see my board) Could not wait to try it with lights, even before the paint was dry i tried on the lights and hurrah I'm all excited and waiting for Christmas to come already.
Please share in our valuable feedback so i may improve and follow my blog if you like it.
Thank you and happy blogging. :)
Edit: 22/11/14
My mother is a coin collector hence cut open the bottle cap and changed it into a coin bottle.. ;) (not skilled enough to do it neatly, got to find a way to hide the dents.)
